Deaf History International is a major event held every 3 to 4 years. This year, the event will take place from August 6 to 10, 2025 in the beautiful historic city of Ghent.
It is a unique opportunity to present ourselves to the international Deaf community, to share stories, learn from one another, and to celebrate our rich and diverse history.
The theme for 2025 is: “Deaf Youth Through the Ages.”
What can you expect?
- Workshops and lectures on culture, history, and innovation.
- An art, history, and archive exhibition on the history of Deaf people.
- Guided tours by Deaf guides in the stunning city of Ghent.
- Family-friendly activities: an enthusiastic children’s entertainer will warmly welcome families with kids.
- A festive gala evening on the final day to conclude in style.

Would you like to actively contribute to this unique event? You can sign up to:
- Staff an info booth with your association/organization during the conference.
- Participate in the art exhibition and showcase your work to an international audience.
Please fill out the art exhibition and archive registration form:
- Your full name.
- Specify the type of art being exhibited.
- What kind of logistical materials will you need on-site?
- Is the purpose of your art to exhibit or to sell? If you plan to sell, a €50 fee applies.
- Indicate whether you would like an invoice.

- Your full name.
- Name of your organization/company/project.
- Is your organization non-profit, a school, commercial, or?
- What logistical materials do you need on-site?
- Prices for the info booth vary depending on whether you are non-profit, sole proprietorship, or a company. Clearly state the type your organization falls under.
- Indicate whether you would like an invoice.
